The layer that reads and controls what we build
As conversion equipment multiplies, something has to read and control it. We start at the equipment edge with RTUs and gateways, and move up to plant-level supervision and control.
A charger, a PCS, a PSU — once installed, each has to be read and controlled. So far we have solved this inside each product, but as devices accumulate on site a separate layer becomes necessary. Remote terminal units and collection gateways occupy that position.
For third-party conversion equipment already installed, we are preparing an approach that adds status diagnostics and security through an add-on module alone, without replacing the equipment. It is designed against IEC 61850, 62443 and 62351.
On a manufacturing floor the same structure becomes a supervisory control system (SCADA). The gateway that collects process data, the inspection device that watches quality, the controller that moves the equipment — the edge hardware is our part.
